We begin by completely dismantling the carburetor including both throttle shafts so that we can install new self lubricating bronze bushings. This will eliminate vacuum leaks at the shafts (which is very common and often overlooked) which in turn will promote a smoother and more precise idle. (Many low cost rebuilders avoid this step)

Remove throttle plate screws

We then “Vapor Hone” all parts which utilizes high pressure water vapor and micro glass beads to gently clean and polish all parts to a factory satin finish. Watch the vapor blaster in action to see amazing results. This process produces a top quality  finish that far exceeds any chemical cleaning or soda blasting procedure.

We test all FLOATS  (new and used) for integrity using a scale. We submerge floats in fuel overnight and do a before/after weight analysis.  We then inspect the main body for casting flaws (we have corrected many) which may interfere with proper mating of surfaces and gasket sealing. We check and correct the carburetor base for flatness.  Main body and all relevant parts are then ultrasonically cleaned.

We  install new self lubricating throttle shaft bushings to ensure leak free throttle shaft rotation. If your carburetor had leaky bushings, a smooth idle is often compromised.  We then install the throttle plates ensuring perfect alignment then use lock tight and also “peen” the throttle plate screws for added security.

We then put the carburetor back together using a new accelerator pump seal along with new gaskets and an OEM Edlebrock needle and seat.  Probably the most important “wear part” in a carburetor is the needle and seat.  We only use OEM Edelbrock needle and seats on Edelbrock carburetors. They are the best quality. After completion, your carburetor will then be “LIVE ENGINE TESTED” and adjusted for best idle and overall performance using AIR/FUEL RATIO gauges and a Vacuum gauge on a stock Chevy 454 Big Block with a stock cam. If your engine has a high lift cam and/or low vacuum, minor mixture screw adjustments may be needed after being installed on your engine.

We do restoration rebuilds, we do not just install a cheap rebuild kit in it and hope for the best.  We do Live Engine Testing and make any adjustments and address any issues before we ship to ensure carburetor is “READY TO RUN” and  works perfectly.

We take our rebuilds a step further by electro-plating and applying yellow chromate to most screws and linkages to make them corrosion resistant and to make the carburetor appear new. Makes a huge difference in overall appearance.

As a special added bonus, we will “yellow chromate” any small metal(steel) parts related to your carburetor installation. (bolts, nuts, springs, small linkages, ect.) MAX 10 PIECES. Just place items in ziplock bag along with your name and number of items written on the ziplock and send it along with your carburetor. We will send them back with the completed carburetor.
